The Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymus Bosch

Great female artists at the Prado Museum
The Prado Museum is not just an art gallery: it is a visual journey through the cultural and political construction of Spain. Through its collections, you will understand the role of the monarchy, the influence of the Habsburgs and Bourbons, and the artistic evolution from the Renaissance to the 19th century. A rigorous and contextualised perspective that expands the experience beyond the most famous works. For this reason, we dedicate part of the tour to highlighting fundamental female figures who have traditionally been overlooked, such as:
Sofonisba Anguissola
Artemisia Gentileschi
Rosa Bonheur
Clara Peeters

We very much enjoyed her approach and we learned a lot!Publicado en Tripadvisor 737WingMan14/05/2026Verificada Phenomenal guide with a good sense of humor. Our guide Maria was terrific. She was well organized and with everyone showing up on time we were able to start a little early. The young lady really knows her stuff. She was well versed on the Spanish history, the artists and the painting techniques they used. There were a couple paintings she shared that really demonstrated the breakthrough technique of perspective that was developed in the later years of the Renaissance. She handled the group well, kept us together and engaged, and demonstrated her extensive knowledge as well as a good sense of humor.Publicado en Tripadvisor WJC45912/05/2026Verificada Great guide with some interesting insights into the styles and history of the paintings and the background to the Prado.
